WHEN FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION...

Learning to Use The CheckMate on US $

Begin by familiarizing yourself with real American money and observe the moiré (wavelike) effect produced when you examine the bill under the CheckMate.
Note: - Real bills are uniform in quality. Counterfeits are inconsistent and vary in the quality of the paper and printing methods used.

1. Examine the BACK of the bill and check the moiré patterns produced by the CheckMate around the building. Place the CheckMate horizontally (flat) on the bill over the building so that the top of the CheckMate lines up with the top of the bill. Notice the distinctive clear strong moiré (wavelike) line patterns around the building. Rotate the CheckMate slowly left and right and watch how the moiré patterns shift from area to area.

2. Examine the FRONT of the bill and study the moiré patterns produced by the CheckMate. Place the CheckMate on the FRONT of the bill and line up the top right corner of the CheckMate with the top right corner of the bill. Hold both the CheckMate and the bill up to a light source. Rotate the CheckMate slowly clockwise. You should see the same background moiré patterns (as seen on the back) showing through the bill.

A CLOSER LOOK

For REAL bills, you can see the background moiré patterns showing through the bill
when viewed with the CheckMate

If you do not see these effects with the CheckMate, the bill is a COUNTERFEIT.

Remember: Counterfeits are inconsistent and vary in the quality of the paper and printing methods used.
